How To Look Sensational When You Go Camping
Tuesday, February 15th, 2011
Just because you’re going on a camping trip and enjoying the outdoors doesn’t mean that you have to slum it and dress like a bag lady. You can enjoy Mother Nature while still being glamorous and looking like a star. Here are a few tips to help you look fabulous in the outdoors.
Bring A High SPF Sunscreen
Did you know that sun damage is one of the primary factors which contribute to wrinkles later on in life? It’s crucial to bring sunscreen with you when spending a long period of time outdoors since the sun’s rays cause permanent skin damage, premature wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. Make sure to use a sunscreen that has a SPF factor of at least 30 and make sure that it protects against UVA rays as well as UVB rays. Keep your sunscreen in a cool place so that it doesn’t get damaged by the sun. An ingenious place to store your sunscreen is inside a soft cooler which can also be used to store foods and drinks.
It’s Ok To Bring Makeup!
Don’t pay attention to the naysayers who say that you should go without makeup on a camping trup. If you are comfortable wearing cosmetics there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wearing some as long as you don’t pack it on as if you’re about to go to a nightclub. I would suggest bringing along a light foundation, lip gloss, an eyelash curler, waterproof mascara, moisturizer, eye shadows, eyebrow powder or pencil, blush, chap stick, pretty much whatever you use on a daily basis etc. Don’t forget to bring along makeup remover cloths in order to remove your makeup at night; this is an excellent way of getting the makeup off if you won’t have access to a sink. Skip the perfume though since certain scents can attract bears and insects. Bring along a very rich moisturizer in order to keep your skin supple and soft.
Bring Dry Shampoo To Keep Your Hair Clean And Voluminous
No water? No problem! Going on a camping trip doesn’t mean you have to resign yourself to oily and dirty hair. Just bring along a container of “dry shampoo” with you; one that I highly suggest is Oscar Blandi. When your hair feels a bit greasy you apply the white powder to the roots of your hair and it works immediately to absorb the oil and it gives your hair an immediate boost volume and shine.
Dress Comfortable But Still Cute
Fitted track suits are cute while still keeping you warm and comfortable. You can wear them in bright colors like pink black for a more sophisticated look. Dress in layers and wear a tank top or fitted t-shirt inside in case you get hot. Also don’t forget to bring a jacket with you in case it gets cold.
Remember to bring along the basics too such as insect repellant, plenty of food and drinks and an ice cooler in order to keep your drinks and food nicely chilled. Camping should be a fun experience that you’ll remember for a long time so live it up while looking good!
