My First Experience As A Biker
Having a mundane white collar job at a law firm one really does not get to express their personality passionately. My job is very confining and structured. After time, as with most things, I desired a change. As often is the case, I started to make a list. As I was searching for the first things I yearned to do, I realized that making a list was not one of them. I ripped up the piece of paper.
I hastily escaped the office cell and jumped into my SUV to immerse myself in the freedom of the road. It was then I realized that this was something I had missed from my youth. I had learned how to drive when I was nineteen and thought how great it was to be out on the road. I remember having the windows rolled down in the summer time and having the breeze flow through my hair. This was freedom and I wanted to experience it again.
I came to a traffic light and it had just turned red. As I came to a stop, I noticed the guy driving a motorcycle in the lane next to mine. He did not resemble the biker stereotype. He was dressed like a biker model with a shiny leather jacket and stylish boots. He clearly worked out, but it was difficult to tell his age because his face was covered with a black helmet. He had a female passenger hanging on to him. She was attractive and appeared to be wearing an outfit similar to his.
It seemed like the perfect thing to do to reclaim the road. I thought I would find one to rent for the weekend and see how it felt. I drove myself home. Upon entering the garage, I noticed other failed attempts at reclaiming this feeling. There was a bright jet ski on the side, fishing rods, and even alpine skiing equipment. After taking a brief respite, I searched for the local motorcycle dealerships.
My conviction was strong. The main reason was that this was a more convenient outlet. I did not need a large body of water or ski slope in order to obtain this feeling. I could hop on my hog and take a ride. I could do this almost anytime I yearned for the open road. After find a business directory, I made a list of the local motorcycle shops. The first one I decided to go to was a domestic manufacturer with a strong reputation.
Upon entering, I was approached by a salesperson who turned out to be very knowledgeable and helpful. He was dressed very well with a noticeable stylish men’s sport watch. He was able to give me a breakdown of the various models, options, accessories, and prices. I conveyed to him my yearning. He understood. His advice was to test drive a low rider with high handle bars. I was ready to go. He let me test drive it. I then inquired if it were possible to rent it for the weekend.
He apparently had received similar requests from previous customers. He knew where I was coming from. There were many people who wanted to enjoy the thrill and excitement of riding a motorcycle. However, making an immediate commitment can be difficult. There are other considerations such as spouse and relatives to account for. They had a weekend lease I could sign. I was set for the open road.
