Jogging Strollers Produce Great Exercise For New Mums
If any readers are still carrying surplus weight following the birth of their baby I highly recommend they buy and make use of a jogger stroller. I gained 20 pounds more than I should have whilst I was pregnant and I was a bit worried about how I was going to lose all of that extra weight after my child was born. I had the feeling I might be stuck with it. One of the nurses at my doctor’s office told me that I should look at getting a jogger stroller.
I had never been into jogging, but I loved to walk, so decided to go along with her suggestion. Naturally, just because it’s known as a jogger stroller doesn’t mean that you must jog with it. It’s just designed to be more robust should mom and dad be into working out while taking their infant for a walk.
To start with, I was discouraged by the prices as I had no interest in paying out in excess of $100 for any kind of stroller, especially as I already had one. Nonetheless, three weeks after my daughter was born, I was rethinking that. I tried to take her for walks outside but the regular stroller just seemed too large and awkward for walking at a quicker rate. It was great for every day uses but not for exercise.
So, once again, I priced up the jogger strollers. My husband told me that it didn’t matter what the asking price was, as long as it would help get me out of the house and feel healthier and more cheerful again. We ended up purchasing a mid priced one for more than I wanted to pay out, but less than what we might have paid. The minute we got home and worked out exactly how it worked and went together, I was off.
I was totally surprised at how fast I could move and how much more comfortable it was for me to manage. What was even more remarkable was how fast the baby fell asleep. I suppose it offered a much smoother ride for him than the more bulky stroller had. She could be very grumpy prior to being put in the stroller and then inside a few minutes of being strapped in, she was as contented as can be.
I loved being in a position to be outside and not feeling like I was so cooped up in the house so much of the time. There were times when it was dull and wet, but luckily, the buggy had a cute little roof for her and, with a waterproof for me, I was still content. I managed to drop a couple of pounds each week.
The only other item of baby gear that comes nearby to the usefulness of the jogging buggy is my baby beach tent which supplies essential beach shelter on our outings to the shore.
